What We Do

Kiwanis Key Club

Key Club is a service organization for high school students. As a student-led organization, Key Club's goal is to encourage leadership through serving others. Key Clubs are coordinated by a Kiwanis Club Member and a High School staff member. Kiwanis Club of Harrisburg sponsors the Key Club at Susquehanna High School.

• Big Brothers Big Sisters of South-Central PA  Purchase match activity supplies for schools, helping to inspire conversation between Bigs and Littles.

• Caitlin’s Smiles  Provides arts and crafts supplies and activities to Children with health challenges. This project is able to impact over 60 children in the community.

• Foundation for Free Enterprise Sponsors two Dauphin County students to attend PA Free Enterprise Week to learn about business/leadership.

• Girls on the Run Mid State PA  Supports 10 girls with registration fees and lunches to attend Camp GOTR weeklong, full-day summer program in Harrisburg.

• Greater Harrisburg NAACP – ACTSO Program  Afro, Academic, Cultural, Technological, Scientific Olympics youth enrichment program – provides medals, prizes, and transport to national competition.

• Junior Achievement Helps subsidize STEM Summit and Real Life programs at Central Dauphin and Central Dauphin East High School.

• Left Out Organization Program (LOOP)  Offsets expenses for their culinary arts, sewing, and literacy programs.Field trips benefitting underserved at-risk youth in the City of Harrisburg.

• Penbrook UCC / Manna Food Pantry Funding goes to purchasing school supplies and backpacks for school-age children in August.

• Dauphin County 4-H Clubs, Inc  Purchase eight tablets for youth to use with the Legos Pike Robotics kit program for summer and school year 2025-2026.

• Pillows of Love  Purchases supplies for pillowcases to fill with New Testament bibles, bible story books, and bookmarks to distribute to shelters in Lancaster, Lebanon, and Dauphin Counties.

• Project Linus York Co of PA  Purchases supplies to make handmade blankets to give to seriously ill, traumatized children.

• Upper Dauphin Area FFA  Purchases supplies to improve and restore landscaping around the school (planter boxes, plants, fountain) 

• The Joshua Group  Provides safe Summer Learning Program to K – 9th grades.Academic support & enrichment program for 140 youth in the Allison Hill area.

• The Kidney Foundation of Central PA (Camp Kydnie)  Provides two campers suffering from kidney disease a weeklong camp experience with specialized care and professionals.

• The Salvation Army Harrisburg Capital City Region  Provides scholarships to the summer youth enrichment program at SA, a 7-week program for families with limited options for summer care.

• United Way of Capital Region – Ready for School​​​​​​​  Sponsor education field trips for pre-school age kids in the Ready for School, Ready to Succeed program with a focus on school readiness.

• Youth Day of Caring – March 28, 2025.Provides supplies for a major clean-up of Harrisburg and the beautification of City Island.The Key Club of Susquehanna Township High School participated in volunteering at the Day of Caring.

• ​​​​​​​ Mt. Lou San Bible Camp  Sponsor one child with the experience of a week-long overnight camp.Focus on the physical, spiritual, social, and emotional well-being of at-risk youth.

• ​​​​​​​ Girl Scouts of the Heart of PA  Academic Edge program curriculum serving the 5 elementary schools in Harrisburg School District, teaching girls to be leaders, problem solvers, and to work collaboratively.  

• Gather the Spirit for Justice  Purchase supplies to stock the toiletries closet in Allison Hill for distribution to low-income, homeless, and immigrant children and youth.
